Gatwick 5k Race | Run Gatwick

Introducing the annual British Airways Run Gatwick 5k race. This is the perfect distance for new runners that want a challenge, but not the full 13.1 miles of the half marathon, or for experienced runners that prefer a shorter, faster race.

The Gatwick 5k race is a fully closed, single-lap route that starts in pretty Southgate Park and works its way through Crawley’s lively town centre. This event is brought to you by the team behind the award winning Run Reigate which was voted the UK’s best half marathon in 2017.

Gatwick 5k Race Information

Carefully planned to offer runners a high quality experience, the 5k will enjoy the same infrastructure as the half marathon, including our huge bag drop, an exciting festival stage with live music and commentary, a warm-up and lots more. Don’t forget you’ll also get your collectable 5k technical t-shirt, bespoke medal and bottled water/banana for every finisher.

The race will take place the same day as the International Half Marathon, Sunday 13th May at 9.25am from Crawley’s Southgate Park. The races will be staggered with the 5k runners starting 20 minutes after the half marathon runners.

Please note that the minimum age to run the 5k is 11. All 11-15 year olds must register with the adult they will run with on event day.

Whether you need refueling after your half marathon or 5k, or are simply coming to soak up the exciting festival atmosphere, you can also indulge in our delicious gourmet food village.

If that’s not enough excitement for you, we’re delighted to announce the return of the British Airways Base Camp. Runners and spectators can relax in the beach inspired area and celebrate their success on the winners podium where they will be able to try their luck and take part in an exciting competition, with a chance to win some incredible prizes!
