The Gatwick Family Run is a fantastic opportunity to get kids excited about running in a big event on a closed road, where children aged 4 and up can take on a 1 mile route in and around the centre of Crawley on a safe, traffic free route.

Gatwick Family Run Race FAQs

The Family Run will be staggered from 12:45pm onwards.

£10 Including fees and postage & packaging.

Young finishers will receive a medal, water and banana.

Option to purchase technical t-shirt made from recycled plastic bottles. 

Yes, we encourage all participants to get involved in the Family Run warm up session at Southgate Park.

There are no prizes for the winner – it’s all about taking part. However, be sure to visit the Vines BMW and Mini Kids Active Zone with plenty of free and exciting activities to try out. Also, our exciting Event Village and British Airways Base Camp has a range of competitions and activities for all the family to enjoy.

Coronavirus Update

We are sure you are all wondering if British Airways Run Gatwick scheduled to take place in just 8 weeks time is still going ahead. In light of the fast moving developments around COVID-19, regretfully we have taken the decision this weekend to postpone the event. Whilst we are extremely disappointed for us and all of you who have been training, our first priority is always to protect the health and well-being of our runners, volunteers, partners and the wider community and this is coupled with the need to not put additional pressure on our local and emergency services.

Our new date for the event will be Sunday 18th October and we absolutely intend to deliver the full British Airways Run Gatwick experience for everyone but as you can appreciate, the next few months are uncertain and therefore we will keep you updated regularly.

We are also aware that many other running events are also postponing to the Autumn period and British Airways Run Gatwick may clash with them and we know that many of you will have to choose between us and other great events. There’s nothing we can say other than we really hope you will still join us. Your entry will automatically be carried over to the new date so there is no action for you to take.

We know you may have some questions particularly around deferrals and transfers, so please bear with us over the coming days as we want to ensure a streamlined and consistent response to you all. Updates will be emailed directly and posted on the Run Gatwick website and our social media channels. Please could we ask you to wait for those updates rather than emailing or asking for updates via social media, this will really help our small team in these difficult circumstances.

Our running and local community are incredibly supportive and we’d like to thank you in advance for your patience, understanding and continued support whilst we work on new plans to deliver a fantastic event experience for everyone in October.
